This herringbone and lattice design reminds me of the hay bales that were stacked in towers across the fields this summer. The design shows off the gentle brown hues of the Shetland sheep the wool comes from.
Limited edition: 300 cushion covers
This is a cushion you’ll want to touch and feel. The texture and warmth of the finely woven tweed, and the softness of the Irish linen make this a cushion everyone will want to sit with, adding natural style to your sitting room, keeping everyone warm and comfy!
18 x 18 inch cushion cover
front 100% British Shetland wool tweed, back 100% Irish linen
We recommend a 20 x 20 inch 100% British wool cushion pad if you’re not using this cushion cover to update an old cushion. This will make it very plump and luxurious – and we sell those too!
The wool for this tweed has come from the sheep of the Shetland isles. The fleeces are sorted and the yarns spun in Scotland, and the tweeds designed and woven at Lovat’s mill in Hawick.
The tweeds we use for our cushion covers are 100% Shetland wool and all undyed, with the designs showing off the different neutral tones of the yarn.
The linen is woven in Northern Ireland by John England with the linen yarn, no longer grown in the UK, sourced from European ethically sourced, flax plant fibres.
The wool pads come from Romney Marsh Wools in Kent, a family farm where the Romney sheep have been in the family for at least six generations.
With an envelope design we avoid the need for a zip fastening which means this cushion really can happily go back to nature when it’s life is over, leaving no mark or footprint behind for future generations to worry about.
We encourage you to breathe new life into your home by replacing old cushion covers rather than throwing the whole cushion away. To help you we sell our soft and tactile Hive & Keeper cushion covers separately, or with a 100% British wool filled cushion pad which will make a plump luxurious cushion.
