Honey from fields, Tamworth, Staffordshire
- In stock, ready to ship
- Inventory on the way
This honey is pale and creamy and people love it, it reminds them of how honey used to taste when they were little! I have to agree, it has a confectionery feel to it, but then a savoury end note so it's not too sweet at all. Perfect on toast and totally more-ish!
Limited edition: 1 of 350 jars
Size: 224g / 8oz jars
Free postage and the story of the beekeeper included
PROVENANCE
Just 350 jars of this honey were produced by bees kept in fields on Matthew's family farm at Tamworth, just on the border of Warwickshire and Staffordshire. It was taken early in the season as the oil seed rape was in bloom and the hawthorn out.
Matthew started beekeeping at University when he decided to renovate two hives on his family’s farm that he couldn’t remember ever being used, though he’s since found photos of his grandfather working the hives! Matthew taught himself at the start by watching lots of videos and then a season spent working on a bee farm in Australia that gave him the confidence to go for it back home!
SUSTAINABILITY
We work with small scale British beekeepers who we visit to talk bees with and see the bees and landscapes that make each honey. All of our beekeepers are good custodians of their bees and the woodlands, meadows, gardens and fields they keep them in. They talk to local farmers, landowners, fellow allotment owners and councils to encourage planting for pollinators, sustainable woodland management and protecting the natural landscape for their bees. Our aim is to bring you special limited edition honeys from more and more British beekeepers: as long as they're good custodians of their bees of course!
Our jars and labels are all British sourced to keep our transport miles and carbon footprint low. We absorb the extra cost
