Keith Lomax, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex

Keith Lomax keeps his hives in his brother's garden at Burnham-on-Crouch - a garden they share with gorgeous rabbits and a fishpond - which the bees will like for their water supplies.  Burnham is an old fishing town, once famous for oysters and smugglers.  Keith was born and bought up in Burnham and moved back home after retiring from work in London.  He found a local group and took up beekeeping 3 years ago. Like Brian’s from Bradwell, the honey we have from him also contains lucerne nectar but its taste is very different, more caramel, and vanilla.  The difference in the taste of these 2 honeys is a perfect illustration of how the quantity of each plant that goes into making the honey effects its taste.
