This honey was taken early in Spring and has a light and well-balanced flavour, the bees were on the horse chestnut, cherry blossom and oil seed rape. (compare it to the August honey we've got from the same bees to see how honey changes all the time - even from the same hive!)

PROVENANCE
Just 455 jars of this honey were produced by bees that Stuart looks after at Ashling Park Vineyard in Sussex. I visited on a glorious sunny day and felt as if I was in France, looking out over stretches of vines that are producing award winning English sparkling wine. It's all sheltered by trees that were planted years ago and are now mature and protecting the vines from the worst of the weather
This honey is from May and has a light and well balanced flavour and consists of horse chestnut, cherry blossom and oil seed rape which is helping to give it it's pale colour and creamy texture.
Stuart’s been interested in bees for ages, as a young teenager he was helping out a local bee farmer in Sussex. From there he went on to work full time for Ashling Park Estate as their estate beekeeper. Along side this he has his own business called SW Honey Farms that he runs with his partner Lindsey.
SUSTAINABILITY
We work with small scale British beekeepers who we visit to talk bees with and see the bees and landscapes that make each honey. All of our beekeepers are good custodians of their bees and the woodlands, meadows, gardens and fields they keep them in. They talk to local farmers, landowners, fellow allotment owners and councils to encourage planting for pollinators, sustainable woodland management and protecting the natural landscape for their bees. Our aim is to bring you special limited edition honeys from more and more British beekeepers: as long as they're good custodians of their bees of course!
Our jars and labels are all British sourced to keep our transport miles and carbon footprint low. We absorb the extra cost
