Raw Honey from Lopcombe, Hampshire (floral)
This pure, raw honey is straight from the bees that John keeps at the bottom of his garden in Lopcombe, in rural Hampshire UK. This honey was taken off the hives in July and has a natural floral flavour with a light citrus note to it.
Until recently John combined beekeeping with shepherding; raising lambs over winter, and then beekeeping in the spring Now he’s cut back and focuses only on the bees, working with a fellow beekeeper who’s in his 90’s, so John is called ‘the boy’!
John has an engineering mind and helped design farm machinery that’s still in use today - I loved being shown it all.
