The natural wool colours woven into a stripped design remind me of the shapes and colours you find in a tree’s bark or in its branches, standing still and looking through the woodland trees.

This would look great in any living room or bedroom. It’s so tactile, soft and thick to the touch and a total luxury to wrap yourself in.

Limited edition: 250

Size: 152cm x 183cm including the rolled and pearled fringes

We offer free returns on any of our tweed cushions or shetland throws.

PROVENANCE

These throws are made from Shetland grade wool which means the wool all has the qualities of Shetland sheep but comes from Jacob, Welsh Black and Shetland Moorit sheep so we can use their natural fleece colours to make the patterns in our undyed throws.

The wool has been sourced from the British Wool Council, owned by 35,000 sheep farmers that collects, grades, markets and sells British wool, and then woven in Yorkshire.

We only use 100% British wool, it’s something we’ve learnt to be careful about as we discovered that being labelled ‘British wool’ doesn’t mean that it’s 100% British, it can include wool from New Zealand etc too which has many more transport miles associated with it!

SUSTAINABILITY

These throws are finished using natural soap (rather than synthetic detergent) so there is no chemical residue in the cloth, which means 100% natural British sustainable woollen cloth with minimal environmental impact.

Wool is both renewable and biodegradable as each year sheep lose one fleece and grow another, with the old one either used for wool or returned to the soil, where it decomposes releasing valuable nutrients into the ground.

Wool is a long lasting fibre, it can be bent back on themselves over 20,000 times without breaking, meaning your woollen throw will last well and enjoy a long life. Science is struggling to replicate this in a man-made fibre!

The protective waxy coating on wool fibres make wool products resistant to staining and they also pick up less dust, as knitting wool is naturally anti-static. Wool is naturally hypoallergenic as it’s resistant to mould growth, and inhibits dust mites which cause most of the allergic reactions.

DELIVERY

2nd class postage and packing to anywhere in the UK is included and a free gift tag too.

Your throw will be safely packed in British sourced tissue paper and cardboard box, so that opening the box will be a treat, revealing the colourful tissue protecting your throw.

CARE

We recommend dry cleaning or gentle spot cleaning with a mild detergent and warm water if need be.
