here we are inside Little Legs' hive and just 2 frames with brood on and not a huge patch either - put bigger than last week so perhaps the food I gave them is helping them a little bit. I saw Little Legs though looking OK, her brood pattern better get better though otherwise lot won't take off. and then I saw a varroa mite on one of the bees - if you look carefully for the brown blob on top of the bee you'll see it too. These are the little buggers that are in every hive and unless we control them they can weaken a hive and loose it. I've put a board under the hive's open mesh floor so I can count the varroa mites on it next week and see how big the problem is and work out what to do.
