Countryside honeys gift set

Countryside honeys gift set

Celebrate our countryside! Three British honeys from bees that visited farms, hedgerows and woodlands with the story behind each limited edition honey included.

These are raw British honeys from beekeepers I’ve visited around the UK and each one is straight from the hive with the honey spun out of the frame and put though a sieve to take out bits of bee - that’s it!

Every honey’s flavour is created by nature alone, and speaks of the place they came from and the bees that made it.

This makes a perfect gift for birthdays, anniversaries or to take as thank you gift for your hosts - everyone loves it! Especially if they’re health conscious or hayfever sufferers as a spoonful of honey a day has been shown to make significant improvements to our levels of good gut bacteria!

140 g x 3 jars presented in a gift box that includes a letter telling you more about each beekeeper and honey.

  • The honey with fresh notes is from John Read in Hampshire and the bees he keeps on farmland in Kings Sombourne. This honey wastaken from the hives in September. It has pot pourri aromas, a zingy taste and a good sweet / acidity balance.

  • The fruity honey is from Yew Tree Lakes, Rotherfield and husband and wife team John and Gayle Schumacher. This honey has a complex taste like a wine and is multi-layered.

  • The floral honey is a heather one from Helmsley Moor, North Yorkshire and a beekeeper called Paul Vassey. It’s warm floral and sweet but at the same time slightly woody and smoky.

Each of the honeys are raw, untreated and unheated and have just been taken from the hive, spun from the frame and run through a sieve. Each one is naturally crystallising so If you prefer runny honey then gently warm it, not higher than 30 degrees (the temperature in the hive) and it will go back to its runny state keeping the enzymes etc intact. Alternatively, just spoon it on and stir it in as it is - the tastes are still delicious!

Honey isn’t suitable for children under 12 months
