Queen Bee 'Hilda' starts her empire

It's been 5 weeks today since the new queen took over from BLT and at last she's laying eggs and her own genetic line are starting to come through.  The picture below shows her 'babies' all nicely pupating underneath those creamy yellow wax cappings.  So it's time to name her and welcome her royal line to Wandsworth, SW London: please welcome Queen Hilda! The name was  a neighbour's inspiration, as my new queen is a Buckfast bee (Buckfast Abbey) and my surname is Abbott - so she's to be named after Abbesses: hello Hilda (of Whitby).  Future generations of queens to come from Hilda are even 'luckier' with their names: Hildegard (of Bingen), Lioba (properly known as Liobgetha, abbess at Bischoffsheim), Elflaeda (Northumbria), Agnes, Radgund and Mildred! Thank you Adam, an inpsired idea and beats BLT as a name!
